I'm going to have to consult a thesaurus to come up with some
new adjectives to put into words my thoughts on Toni's new CD.
So, here it goes. Simply put, Incurably Romantic is simply the
best. Tah dah!
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you, Toni,
for the many years of joy you have brought me through your music.
Your voice, your talent, your depth, your everything is the best
of the best and it is evident when listening to Incurably Romantic.
I eagerly awaited the release of the CD and, again, I was not
disappointed. I would thoroughly enjoy hearing you perform these
songs live. Toni, you outdid yourself with Incurably Romantic.
What possibly could be next on your agenda?
And
to Kathy Rubbicco - My mother was right; I should have continued
with my piano lessons as a child. Do you think it's too late (smile)?
A forever fan,

Welcome to a new millennium - this is a wonderful CD.
I have waited awhile for some " new " material from
a wonderful voice that was silenced way too long.... and this
was worth the wait. I especially enjoy " At Last " and
I find myself humming " Tenderly " without realizing
it - that song has really stuck in my brain.
I had gotten used to Toni backed up by the big band or the jazz
quartet - but I simply love the piano accompaning her - sort of
reminds me of one of my favorite CAPTAIN AND TENNILLE songs -
"SONG OF JOY ".
I have been a fan since 1975 and its certainly been 25 Years of
Romance up till now, and I certainly await the next 25 year

---I
have been a fan of The Captain and Tennille since 1975...My name
is Darren Quello and my e mail address is LVMUSKRAT@AOL.com if
any other fans would like to correspond... My favorite song on
the cd is "I've Got A Crush On You"...I have always
loved that song and often wondered what it would sound like if
Toni sang it...Now I know....Toni does a beautiful job...My favorite
instrument is the piano...I LOVE THIS CD. I heard Toni sing her
song "Circles" with just a piano and no back up singers
a few years ago at Whiskey Pete's in concert and I feel thats
how that song should have been recorded...her version in concert
was way better than the way she recorded it on the album in 1977.
I am very glad this CD came out and am waiting anxiously to hear
what songs she is gonna record on her CD in the fall...I would
like to suggest for her last song on the next CD ... "Goodnight
Sweetheart". That song was my Grandma and Grandpa's "special"
song. I really like this style and I am sure all of Toni's fans
will too!!! Great work Toni!!!

I have been a fan of Toni Tennille and the Captain and Tennille
since 1975. It has been a joy following Toni's career because she
sings with so much passion and truly makes every song hers. She
made a stellar debut as a solo artist with More Than You Know and
has continued to grow and experiment as an artist.
While it is true that Incurably Romantic is Toni Tennille's first
cd with only piano accompaniment, it is not the first time Toni
has recorded with piano only. Gems like "Smile For Me One More
Time", "Baby Me", "Guess Who I Saw Today",
"Someone To Watch Over Me", and "I Thought About
You"--to name only a few Tennille/piano ballads---showcase
Toni's ability to keep the song and the lyrics at the center of
her emotional performances. On this cd, Toni Tennille masters each
song and her performance is flawles throughout. There are, in fact,
no "misfires" on this recording. Toni sings confidently,
yet keeps her powerful voice under control, avoiding some of the
problems evident on Things Are Swingin'/Tennille Sings Big Band.
Her phrasing is appropriate and her interpretations are fresh; she
includes many long-forgotten "preludes" and verses to
these classic songs. For example, "At Last" begins with
a short verse about love passing one by , but then quickly develops
a jazz feel that will put a smile on the faces of those familiar
with Etta James' version. You can't help but smile throughout
Toni's interpretation of "Sweet and Slow".
For me, the standout cut on this collection is "Tenderly".
Words cannot describe how Toni Tennille transforms this song into
an emotional event. Admittedly, "Tenderly" is one of my
favorite songs; I have a number of recordings of this tune by other
singers (Melissa Manchester and Natalie Cole, for example), but
Toni delivers this song to a new level. Her performance is heart
achingly beautiful. She equals the masterful performance of "Tenderly"
found on Never Let Me Go.
In short, Incurably Romantic is pure musical joy from start to finish.
The pianist, Kathy Rubbicco, is superb. And the quality of the recording
is op-notch. Elegant and unhurried, Incurably Romantic is Tennille
at her zenith.

I've been a fan of Ms. Tennille's for so long, and I didn't think
music could get better than her albums "More Than You Know"
and "All of Me"...but I think that this is quite possibly
her greatest musical achievement.
It takes guts to go it alone with a piano. Ms. Tennille succeeds
wonderfully and joins the likes of Tony Bennett (with Bill Evans)
with beautiful results. The piano playing is simply flawless.
The recording is pristine too...the engineers knew exactly how
to record this project. You'll keep pressing the repeat button
on your CD player. - Guaranteed.

Toni Tennille's new CD, "Incurably Romantic", further
proves that she is simply one of the finest singers working today.
It is the first time Toni has recorded accompanied only by piano.
Her voice is rich, warm, and extremely emotional.
Since her early days recording as part of Captain & Tennille,
it was evident that Toni possessed an amazing voice. Old gems like
"Gentle Stranger", "Happier Than The Morning Sun",
"Come In From The Rain", and "Dream" proved
her ability to sing much more than Top 40 pop.
This recording ranks as one of her best and further showcases her
versatility. Buy this CD and be swept away by her wonderful singing
and the ace piano playing by Kathy Rubbicco.
Toni, you have made this fan very happy!

It is always a thrill to hear new material from Ms. Tennille.
This CD is no exception. The material is unique in that it is simply
accompanied by a piano. This minimalist approach only serves to
exemplify the interpretive talent of Ms. Tennille. Those of us who
have faithfully followed Toni's career over the last twenty five
years have been priveledged to hear her voice grow and mature along
with our own musical tastes.
Her voice has aged like a fine wine. Where the velvety subtlety
of her early work (as half of Captain & Tennille) has mellowed
some, it has been replaced by a rich and warm strength that only
experience can bring. Her talent is self evident in that those fortunate
enough to hear her perform live hear the same confident singing
heard on her recordings.
The material is not only (as the title states) "Incurably Romantic",
but is also quite challenging. Ms. Tennille approaches all of it
in a manner that truly shows her wide range and versatality of style.
Whether it's richly humming a soft melody of a ballad, or singing
with a sassy jazz feel (as on "At Last"), Tennille sounds
at home.
I highly recomend this CD to anyone who enjoys an extreme talent
such as Ms. Tennille singing timeless material. Thank you Ms. Tennille
for continuing to produce such music for your fans to enjoy!
Sincerely,
Michael Holden - Longtime Fan

If you want to see a singer do a high wire act with only a piano
as a net and come out a champion, get Toni Tennille's new CD.
Beautifully performed and recorded, this album shows why Toni
Tennille has one of the most beautiful dramatic voices in the
recording industry today.
The piano playing is some of the best that I've heard in years...and
Toni's singing is some of her best. It would make her father proud!
This album proves that overproduction exists in the music world...the
approach is simple...a singer and a piano...but the results are
magical.
Enjoy.

I have been a devoted fan of Toni Tennille and the Captain &
Tennille since 1975. Toni's new CD, "Incurably Romantic",
is one of her best ever. Her voice is as strong, soothing, yet sassy
as ever. I truly enjoy listening to this CD. It is very relaxing
and definitely romantic! Sit back, turn the lights low and drown
in the warm of these love songs!
The only thing that could top this new CD would be a new CD from
the Captain & Tennille!
Toni and Daryl's love has stood the test of time and their music
too! I have watched Toni's talents through the years from music
to television to Broadway and have been amazed at how easily she
can transform and shine in each new arena. She is truly a versatile
performer and one that should not go unwatched.
You will not be disappointed with your purchase of this CD. Listening
to the wonderful piano playing of Kathy Rubbicco and the beautiful
and breath-taking voice of Toni Tennille will be time well spent.
And the best part is that you can enjoy this CD over and over again!
Best Wishes Toni! Anxiously awaiting your next recording and/or
performance!

I've got to share with all Toni Tennille's dedicated fans how
woderful her new CD is, It's like every other album or CD of Toni's
or Toni and Daryl's, once you turn it on, you're hooked throughout
the entire CD. Toni's work is fabulous and makes all us fans proud.
I
have been a fan since I first saw Captain and Tennille perform
Love Will Keep us Together and I have continued as an avid fan
until Today. I would like to also share with everyone that on
Toni and Daryl's 20 years of Romance CD, the song "Wind Beneath
My Wings". On the original CD this song was not included.
On a seperate version of 20 years of Romance, Wind beneath My
Wings was included. For those of you who like this song, In my
opinion, Toni has done this song better than any other performer
I have ever heard.
Don't
deprive yourself of this wonderful rendition, Wind Beneath My
Wings is a very mellow and meaningful song, and as I just stated,
Toni has out-done all other versions. Please also treat yourself
to this single. It is truly remarkable and Toni has once again
captured our undivided attention with her fabulous vocals

I have followed Toni's career for many years. If she's on TV---I'm
watching. If she has a new album---my wallet smiles as it opens. Her
new CD is just wonderful. And I can't wait for the fall when she
releases the "love gone wrong" songs.
The best cuts on her new Cd are: "I've Got A crush On You",
"It's Magic", "Sweet And Slow", "Candy",
"Midnight Sun", "At Last", "Tenderly",
and "For All We Know". The other songs are beautiful
but Toni seems to shine more on those.
Being a loyal Tennille fan for 26 years I can honestly say that
she's the BEST singer in the world. She could take "Ice Ice
Baby" and make it into anAmerican classic!
In
a nutshell, Toni Tennille proves she can do it and do it like
no other. She's truly the last of a dying breed: A true, sophisticated
Southern Lady!
